With support from the Bjarne K Dahl Trust, The Red Room Company teamed up with Bundanon for a special New Shoots collaboration called the Eucalyptus Eco-Poetry Project (EEPP). The EEPP deepens emotional connections with the environment by supporting poets, students and local community to take a closer look at eucalypts through a poetic lens.
On 2 June 2016, students from Bombaderry High School bused thier way to Bundanon to work with poet in residence, Eileen Chong and to learn more about the eucalypt communities unique to the area. Through a series of poetic activities, students enriched their creative and cultural connections with eucalypts, collecting specimens and crafting eucalypt-inspired poems.
Other poets involved with New Shoots include Lorna Munro, Eric Avery, and Mark Tredinnick.
