Year 7 students from Cherrybrook Technology High School will take part in a series of unique performance and visual poetry workshops with poets, L-FRESH The LION & Kirli Saunders on Monday 13th November 2017.

The Red Room Poetry Workshops at Cherrybrook Technology High School have been specially tailored for the students of year 7 and will focus on visual & performance poetry. The day will consist of 8 x 50 minute intensive workshops and will include a performance by L-FRESH The Lion. Students will rotate amoung activities, and each student will have an opportunity to learn with L-FRESH The LION and Kirli Saunders.

With L-FRESH, students will explore performance poetry and the relationship between poetry and music. L-FRESH The LION will lead a range of creative writing and performance activities to encourage students to be empowered to use their voices. 

Kirli’s visual poetry workshops will allow encourage students to create a group visual poem and to explore a range of visual forms of poetry including erasure poetry, mandala poetry, shape poetry, sculpture poetry, collage and woven poetry.
