Red Room Poetry features on the Saturday of the ETA NSW 2017 Conference.
The workshop explores two of our programs, Poetry in First Languages, led by Yuin poet, Kirli Saunders and Yala Gari (Speak the Truth), a program led by Wiradjuri poet, Lorna Monro in collaboration with NASCA. The two poets share practical strategies and case studies that support teachers in embedding Aboriginal languages into the English curriculum through poetry. They will also outline appropriate ways of establishing relationships with your local Aboriginal community, to foster these learning experiences.
