Girls in Year 8 at St. Ursula’s were among the first in Australia to experience the newly designed learning resource for middle school students based on the 2010 Sea Things public poetry project. St. Ursula’s was an ideal choice for the pilot program as it is also known as the School by the Sea. The girls explored the relationship Australians have with the sea through the medium of poetry.

Dr. Bronwyn Lea visited St. Ursula’s campus from Brisbane and her residency extended over three days. She addressed all of Year 8 and worked closely with smaller groups of girls. The visual arts department of the school was involved in an exciting cross-curricular collaboration during the Red Room Education program at St. Ursula’s College.
