Western Sydney University Young Writers' Day invites 170 talented young writers from 18 different schools to spend the day learning useful tips and techniques from published authors, who will also share insights about their lives as writers.

Australian performance poet Candy Royalle worked with 20 Year 10 & 11 students from the Western Sydney region on performance poetry activities during the UWS Young Writer's Day.

Comments from the day's workshop were incredibly vibrant and positive, with statements like:

        - Amazing!  Loved Candy’s work and the interaction. Only complaint is that I wished it was longer!

        - [Candy] was exceptional, she brought an excitement to the class and is a brilliant performer. I loved the workshop.

        - Brilliantly presented, excellent content, engaging and memorable.
