Jake Dennis is a nationally published poet. He has been published in Voiceworks, Cordite, Recoil 4, Page Seventeen, Wet Ink, Art Monthly Australia, Creatrix, Sitelines, dotdotdash, Vibewire, Cottonmouth, River Tales, Metior, The Big Issue, Underground Writers, the Creative Connections Anthology, and the Australian Literary Review.

He won the 2011 Now & Then: Literature Prize and was shortlisted and placed in the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards, the Roland Leach Poetry Prize, and the West Australian Young Writers Contest. In 2011 he was a Young Writer in Residence at the Katherine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre. Jake has been a featured poet for the Peter Cowan Writers Centre, Voicebox, Cottonmouth, and the Perth Poetry Club. He edited Grok magazine in 2009 and the Poets @KSP chapbook Shimmer in 2011. He is a guest poet at the 2012 WA Poetry Festival and at the 2013 Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre for the Festival of the Asian-Australian Voice. Most recently he won the 2014 Right Now: Human Rights Poetry Competition. He is a freelance journalist for Drum Media Perth and Science Network WA.
