Samuel Wagan Watson is a Brisbane-based writer of Germanic and Wunjaburra ancestry. In 2018 his body of work was granted the Patrick White Literary Award. Collections of his poetry have won accolades and been successfully translated overseas. A late exploration of his short story writing has found a place in journals such as Cordite, the Saturday Paper and the Chicago Quarterly Review, and in the anthology Caring for Country. He is published by University of Queensland Press.
