A Burden

Tears fall down my supple cheeks
They fall on the ground, and plant new trees
I’m soon surrounded by plants galore
My tears fall, so trees, there are more
Shall I sob till fossil fuels are destroyed?
Till the green trees are finally enjoyed?
Known for conquering the evil carbon
Something that separates you, what a bargain
Around me grows the gorgeous forest
Am I worthy of this? I must be honest
Humankind always razoring trees
What a terrible crime, that isn’t for me
The trees are the ones truly paying
You just want money, stop praying
You pump toxic carbon into the air
But it's you and your families who’ll be in despair
Must I keep sobbing for all humans?
The burden is on me, we’re no longer a union
Since no one will stop ruining the world,
It's up to me, but you can help
