A Different World

On the coast where the flowers grew, cars are driving on some avenue.
Where the stars shone so nice and bright, the beautiful stars are now out of sight.
It was a truly wonderful sight to see. Are you satisfied? Are you happy?
On the beach which used to have lots of fish, it’s not rare to see floating bits of rubbish.
In the time where birds danced in the sky, now over there you can see skyscrapers up high.
Australia feels like it gets a scraped knee, Every time people build another city.
Are you satisfied? Are you happy?
In the time where the sugar gliders soar, now you can only hear a car horn roar.
Critters and marsupials filled the bush, now with these fires Australia’s getting kicked in the tush.
When the kookaburras were really snappy, are you satisfied? Are you happy?
In the outback, the dingoes used to prowl, now in captivity, they bark and growl.
The waratahs, the wattles, and the gum trees too. Chopped down to make a house for you.
Let me ask this one more time. Is this world satisfied with their crimes?
