A Melted Glacier

The Ice Cube loafs
Drifting on my fish tank
Cruising, a fish across the sea
An ant glides gently around the glacier
The fish slice through the cool blue waters
Birds chirp outside the window
Calling to their aquatic friends
A message, a warning, a vile summer ahead
A blazing fire to end the cool
The tank - a kettle, a boiling pool
The fish are dying, the ice is melting
Humid winds, dry the ice
The ants are choking, the fish are gasping
Despite the window close
An AC not enough for those
Who die in agony amongst the heat
All the ants drown, and all the fish boil
The ice has dissolved to nothing less than a liquid
While at my fish’s funeral, the ice has died alone
The tank has overflowed, the tank overlooked
