Like a dazzling butterfly’s wing,
The talisman hangs lightly off.
The delicate chain around my neck,
Slender, long and intricate.
Angel’s wing, pure, perfect,
Halcyon heart outline,
Loving, sweet, warm.
On my chest, the gilded heart lies,
Reminding me to be kind, giving and to care.
Whispering, “Love me”, “Treasure me”,
“Keep me today, tomorrow, forever and always.”
Emanating memories; loving, fun,
Those that weren’t so joyful.
This charm, this treasure has been with me through thick and thin.
It smells of fresh coconut juice,
Fairy floss, melting in your mouth.
Without it I feel lost, destroyed.
In my dream it talks to me, tells me,
“Pass this on to generations”,
“When you wear me, feel pride, feel loved, and make the impossible, possible.”
