Every step I take
I fill my lungs with air
And exhale out with glee
I see the friend of sun and sky
Speaking happiness beyond the reach of books
The ones who filter our air
With which we repay rather cruelly
I smile, pitifully
Continuing my journey
I see ducks swimming serenely
In the glimmering body of blue
A home for the gill family
With which we treat rather horribly Dumping our junk
Changing the bright blue to floating debris Once again, I smile, pitifully
I stop and listen to the sweet nature music
The bird calls and water gushing
The motherly quacking and leaves brushing together We still have a long way to go
To nurture and care
The way nature nurtures
The call of life
