Quiet lapping of the waves 
Rushing over the golden shore 
Coral reefs, far away 
Why can’t I see this anymore? 
 
Vast forests, filled with green 
Plants that grow, trees that soar 
Colourful flowers, moss covered logs

Animals, far and wide 
Beautiful swans to a rushing boar 
Working together to make a home 
Why can’t I see this anymore? 

A dark night sky, stars swirling through 
Perfectly black, not a single flaw 
Sunset and sunrise, warm and bright 
Why can’t I see this anymore? 

Reality is terrible, painful to see 
The harmony of life, replaced by war 
Searing heat, black smoky skies 
The beauty of nature isn’t here anymore.
