Australia's Daybreak

Its loud laughter brings cues in the song
for the people in the sky to light up the sun each day,
lighting up the canvas of the morning sky.
Be a moving target for those ugly alligators,
they lie unseen under the river's still eyes
lying in wait to pounce.
Oh great, now we can get killed from box jellyfish just by swimming in the ocean,
the sea may seem to be your friend but it has embedded sharp edges
underneath the flat, wavy face.
This is Australia,
where the laugh of a kookaburra begins the day,
And the land is wide with miracles, but mouthed full of cautions.
Every sunrise stands for beauty as well as surprises.
Even the brightest day has a shadow.
