My bangles hang waiting for me in my
jewellery box lined with velvet to protect the jewelled
sides. All 4 of them hang across
2 racks. Deep purple and sky blue shimmering
with glitter. They fit me. As I look at
them i see the crystal gems.
It reminds me of my grandmother. She gave
it to me on my birthday. It is a
reminder of her, that comes back to me
when I wear it. The smooth metal
rings around my wrist, when I dance
to my cultural songs. They jingle
when I move and twist when I
dance. They are a symbol of my culture
and me.
