Leopold, the bear of legend.
He journeyed with many people,
Aiding them in all their quests,
Supporting them throughout it all,
Even when he saw a loss.
His fluffy fur was like dust in the wind
But now
The fur on his feet, long gone from walking the world.
He looks upon this world today and remembers
The stamp on his foot is a window to the past
He mourns the fallen warriors,
Cries for families lost
But rejoices for this bright new world,
If only it wasn’t almost lost.
Carrying his heavy load,
All those memories he carries
They weigh him down and lift him up
All his companions, long gone
Now Leopold walks alone.
