In my garden so soft and still,

The morning light begins to spill.

Freshly cut grass under my feet,

My skin feels the early heat.

Lavender aroma hits my nose,

 An unusual smell I suppose.

Strong, pungent takes over my senses,

I move away and my body tenses.

I hear a rustle from the bushes behind,

Lots of thoughts cross my mind.

A snake, spider maybe even a bee,

Too scared to look, I turn and flee.

Looking down on my garden safe on my balcony,

I admire nature's beauty, full immersion is not for me.

A cup of tea in one hand, a book in the other,

Nature is beautiful just like my mother.
