Before It's Too Late

We hear the crisp crunch beneath our feet
It’s fun, we think, for we were “just young”
We didn’t know what was happening to the world around us
We climb trees as if we were monkeys to look cool in front of our friends
It’s fun, we think, for we were “just young”
We didn’t know the effect on the world around us
When we were first introduced to how the environment was dying, like on life support, we didn’t care
It’s still fun, we think, for we were “just young”
But we knew what was happening to the world around us
But as the grass loses its green
And the trees lose their leaves
We realise what we’ve done wrong
It's not fun anymore, for we weren’t “just young”
We finally realised what was happening to the world around us but…
it was too late
The world was gone
