Belonging

Clouds tip-toe ever so slowly,
passing by as I walk home.
Sunflowers, smiling behind me,
as I reminisce about the park.
The breeze, brushing past,
carries memories,
reaching me when
I need them the most.
Flowers are friends,
uniting with kookaburras,
to lead me to the nostalgic eucalyptus,
still wearing tattoos of initials carved long ago.
Beautiful swans in the distance
remind me of the lake's lullaby,
Every tear I shed
collected by its gentle embrace.
The grass hugs the soles of my shoes,
giving me a sense of belonging.
My inner child grins,
a bright light in my heart.
