Beloved beach

The beach is a retreat,

A paradise so sweet,

All worries slip away just by dipping in my feet.

The sun on the rise, the tide just as high,

I see this all in the corner of my eye.

Seagulls soar in the golden sunlit sky

While seashells whisper melodies nearby.

The tingle of salt in the water so divine.

The refreshing coolness sending ripples down my spine.

Just for a moment, everything seems frozen in time.

Laughter echoes through the water,

As I glance over to see my husband and daughter.

The gentle waves cradling me, as day turns to night,

As the ocean awakes, and really comes to life.

Footprints fade, washed away by the tide,

The beach, a sanctuary and simply sublime.
