Below The Blue

It lay beyond my reach, under the blue,

where a different world lies, one I never knew.

Many people submerged themselves beneath her caring waves

before resurfacing shortly and continuing with their days. 

I longed to one day join them and now I’ve got my wish.

I’ve joined them beneath the blue with the coral and the fish.

In the form of a boat I went through all the pain,

something hacking in my side but nothing did I gain.

I was taken to a workshop before being thrown into the sea.

But I was used for work, I certainly wasn’t free.

I am now trapped, trapped below the blue, wishing I hadn’t left my hill

telling my story so you don’t make this mistake too.
