I beat my wings against the cage.

Singing my pleas in sweet melodies.

The man yells at me in outrage.

Finches chirp silent prayers.

Parrots run on about their affairs.

Bluejays turn their head to the sky.

Eagles, untamed, sink their talons in whoever goes by.

A pigeon roasted over the fire.

Turned into any delicacies that man desires.

Free me quickly my lovely pet.

I’ll sing a song and fly into the sunset.
