Sage-green leaves swaying softly

In the cool early morning air

The tall, broad gum tree standing lofty

Perched high above on the highest branch, blissfully unaware.

A bright, white-feathered cockatoo sat silently

Blissfully unaware of the dilapidated surroundings

Blissfully unaware of the environment ruined completely

It’s amber-yellow crest glimmering in the sun’s radiant rays.

Why is it hard to understand?

We are ravaging their homes and birthplace

And we all still are

So very blissfully unaware.
