Blooming Marine Life

As you swim past swarms of Potato Cod and Alousent Pink Maniray, you feel at peace
As far as you can see, bright colours of coral pop and bring life into the world
The deep blue ocean filled with marine life and hope
You swim with the dolphins that squeal with delight as they jump over your head
You taste the salty water crust on your tongue as a sea cucumber wriggles up a rock
But this is not the reality
Your body swims through the icy water grey white and black fill your eyes
This used to be a paradise, now it's an empty oasis
Bleached coral makes the aquatic world look bare
Pollution swimming with the decaying coral
The careless actions of us humans
Overfishing sucking all of the fish from this delicate ecosystem
Mining and burning of coal and fossil fuels are having devastating impacts here
Global warming causing sea temperatures to rise, killing fish
If we stop fishing so much and find a sustainable source, we could fix this
Dugongs could swim happily with no threat
Whales could start their extraordinary call
Coral could bloom back to life
Pink Maniray could dive in this deep blue sea
All of the innocent animals could come back. We caused mess - fix it
