Blue Eskimo

4 years ago I got a package on a plane.
Inside were many things,
including a rubber Blueberries,
it smelled like blueberries.
Perhaps to match its colour.
He is a boy, because that’s what I made him,
his legs and lower arms have been lost
in combat with paper.
Eskimo clothes guard his face,
which I sometimes draw on.
A gentle reminder of my time,
my time over in America
my first time in a different country.
Toying with my little, blue rubber
amending the mistakes of my journal.
That’s what he is a repairman,
Being there when I mess up.
On essays, worksheets
both a tool and a memory.
A double-threat.
Abby lost it.
