Breathe

The air we breathe, we take it for granted.
Inhaling, exhaling we do not realise we're doing it.
You do not think how quickly our earth is dying.
We never even try to save our planet.
The cool winter current simmering against my body, dancing around me
My hair sweeping the heavens.
I close my eyes taking in the moment to think,
Taking deep breaths and listening to the waves crash against the shore.
Our future awaits us and our future children to come,
All earth is silent.
Anticipating the darkness of our approaching years,
In the fault of those who only had riches in their minds.
But their greed does not determine who we are.
We can still change what we do even in the closing days.
If we change
For we will never have to fear the lugubrious hours.
