Bunny

Average. Small, brown and beige.
An average toy with an average name.
But her life was different,
The opposite in fact.
From the beginning of her memory
She was taken to a baby
On its date of birth.
Before this was a time of sadness,
No family or friends to love.
Her family was gone,
All taken away.
Bunny was little though,
She doesn’t remember much.
One day they took her away.
She was small and scared,
But now she has a friend.
These two were inseparable,
The girl and the bunny,
They did everything together.
Sat in the pram together, slept together,
Even celebrated their birthdays together.
But all this ended,
After they became too old.
Bunny was getting worn,
And the girl was just too old for soft toys,
So up in the closet she went.
Bunny had been left to think,
To relive the memories, good and bad.
