A clap of thunder,
The fall of leaves.
Ashes to ashes,
All around me.

My home is gone now,
A fiery twig’s all that’s left.
My burn wounds are nothing,
To the pain in my chest.
My home, my friends, my family,
Gone.

Falling through the hazy pain,
Desperately grappling for a ledge.
A gaping hole inside my chest,
That used to be my home,
That hole will never be repaired.
