Bushfire

Trees burning, animals’ lives lost, 

bushfire destroying everything in its path, 

worried hearts, 

anxious souls,

homes turning into ashes

for big and for small,

the fire destroying it all,

trees burning, darkness growing everywhere,

fierce fire screaming 

where do we go from here? 

how long will it be

for help to come so we can flee?

trees crashing  down, down, down

splash! Fire fighters are here defending the red monster,

the land as dark as a shadow,

is there any hope?
