Bushfire’s Embers, Bushfire Run

SIZZLE! SIZZLE! SIZZLE!
The bright blue bite from the sky
Catches my eye,
As I see a glossy black cockatoo
Soaring up high.
Shining sun beams over the land,
At the crack of dawn a fire spark began.
Fire snickered, fire swept
Blazes thickened, wildfire effect.
Trees licked by embers of fire,
Flames are fire's cruel delight.
Ash so thick, it’s hard to see,
Fire everywhere surrounding me
Gathered together, smoke like a shroud.
Much too stunned to say anything aloud.
The land still smells of smoke,
Animals scurry to avoid a fire’s choke.
