By the Waterfall

A tree stands tall
Branches reaching, grabbing sky
Standing alone by the waterfall
A home for birds and bats flying by.
Along comes a construction team,
With an axe and a saw,
Who need a long wooden beam,
And in the treetops birds sadly caw.
A stump stands small,
No more birdsong,
By the waterfall,
This is all too wrong.
We must stop this horrible act,
Don't let nature continue to yelp,
We can fix this and that’s a fact,
Come on help!
