At night, hunt for food
What's that under the streetlight?
Walk slowly towards the prey
Bound over, grab it in your mouth
Secure it, run back home, out again
What's that? Another cat?
How dare they take your food
Sneak up on them, pounce on them
Claws in backs, teeth in legs
Victory, at a high price
Broken foot, bleeding belly, injured neck
Grab reward and return home
All in a sunrise and sunset
Day after day, hunting, fighting, sleeping
Until you lose your way
Cautious of surroundings, something might attack
One wrong step might lead to death
Return home at last
