Crashing waves as I swim

Waves crash as I swim through the water.
There were no humans as far as the eye could see for the water was too rough.
My scales did not glint in the sun as the sun was hidden from view.
Above the water was too rough to swim
But under the water, you could see all the waves crash over me
As I floated through the water.
I could close my eyes and feel at peace 
I could not hear the waves or the humans yelling from the sand
All I could hear was my own thoughts on the world
When I opened my eyes it all came rushing back.
