Disappearing Nature

Rivers rushing, birds humming, trees waving 
a peaceful land 
Rumble! And there it started 

trees crying for help,

rivers pleading as they fight for life

Homes destroyed,

Animals running away

the light awaits 

Underground

a steel form jabbing at the soil

Thud! Colour wiped from the land 

Nothing left but a drop of water

Country doing her best to fight for her children 

peace now disturbed 

life takes place now

beasts playing with Country's resources 

not knowing what she's capable of 

destruction was the beasts' best friend 

Nature's heartbeat -- rapidly, ground trembling 

shaking 

What happened to Country?
