The quote I remember when I look at my watch,
A watch as white as milk, as valuable as gold and as beautiful as diamonds.
My mum’s friend gave it to me as a present to remember her.
I remember the memories, good times and bad.
The scrumptious candies she offered every time I went over,
The other presents she gave me.
I remember saying goodbye.
I could hear the tears slowly falling off people’s cheeks.
The love she shared with me ever since I was little,
Wishing I could have savoured more of that time with her while she was still in the country.
Every time I look at my watch it helps me go through tough times.
If it ever was taken away from me or brutally destroyed –
I would worry I would not be able to see her again.
I remember the Dr Seuss saying - “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
