Dragonfly

Deep in the eyes,
We think about battle
And remember them.
On the outside you,
Will find a crack
To show it’s,
Wiseness.
You can see,
It’s fragile wings,
It’s small antennae,
It’s stubby legs.
Now you know it’s,
Special,
Calming,
And it will always,
Look after you.
Reflection
This belonged to my Great Grandma Susie then it was passed down to my Nonna. Susie got it when she was 18 she had during WWII. I got it for my birthday, but my Nonna new I wanted it when I was looking in her cupboard. I was drawn straight to it’s beauty. The way I wrote this poem was in 4 steps, contemplation, response, writing and editing. When I was writing I used texta instead of a pen because it made it flow easier.
