Eagle Misery

Soaring above, watching the destruction of my home.
My food was filled with human trash.
My home, my nest, my babies are all gone.
The trees that homed a thousand species
All those homes are gone for a pencil or paper that just gets thrown away.
My bird friends locked in battery farms for their eggs.
We’re forced to hunt and fight and race, all for the humans enjoyment.
I feel myself getting weaker.
I can’t fly as well as I could before.
My eyelids are as heavy as lead.
I think it’s time for my eternal rest.
