Echidna

The spiny ball scuttles around a hollow tree,
Sticks its tongue inside and scoops up termites
Eats the lovely delicacy
And digs a hole in the ground, then crawls in himself.
Out he wiggles, looking for more termites.
BOOM! CRASH!
He jumps in fright,
He quickly scurries to the nearest rock crevice.
The spiny ball surveys his habitat,
And sees a weird red thing eating a tree trunk.
The wind howls,
Causing the red thing to spread to another tree trunk
He crawls out of the rocks
The red thing comes closer to him
He tries to dig underground but it is too fast
He cries in agony but something drenched him.
He hears yells, something he couldn’t understand.
Something makes him float in the air
He squirms around, trying to free himself.
He stares at the creature, lifting him up, a prick hits him, he remembers no more.
