Fate

Slugs slipping and sliding
On the ferny forest floor,
Watch as they fall, fall and fall.
The moonlight gazing upon me.
The only thing I see
The magpie coming toward me.
It comes so fast, so quick and agile,
I can’t think for myself
My body’s frozen to the spot.
My yellow body standing out among the rest,
I can’t create it, I can’t, I can’t…
I can’t.
Its nearly at me now
Its talons stretching out,
I accept my fate,
It’s the only thing I can do,
I close my eyes,
As its reaching out,
Squeezing my insides….
I drop.
