Forested land

I speak for the trees

For the koalas and the bees

I speak for Mother Nature and all of her daughters

When they wonder why they even bother

Deforestation is the purposeful clearing of forested land

This is why I persist in persisting for all the nature that humans are missing

The age-old battle of humans and nature

Could never be straightforward

We know what we are doing, shooing and shooing

Making nature go away without letting her have a say

This is why I persist in persisting for all the nature that the animals are missing

We have nature in a not-so-accidental   

Chokehold

It's our job to go forth and be quite bold

To respect nature is like having a child

Caring and loving is a marathon, not a sprint

If we were to destroy all that is there

We will end up with a planet that is bare

So this is why I persist in persisting

Fighting for a world that everyone is wishing
