Frozen
stuck in time
motionless,
just waiting.

Just waiting for someone to let it go
to free the souls trapped
by the paint
that dried decades ago.

The smooth surface
sits over the rough sea
which the ship pierces
with ease
as a seagull flies by.

And all of this
is frozen
in time.
