Purple, pink, yellow and blue, all different colours of bright shimmering gems
I got mine while I was in the Jenolan caves
It was a gift from my mum and dad
Taken out of the caves and put into the gift store
It’s hard to explain how they make me feel, I have mixed emotions every time I touch them.
The gems bring back good memories with my cousins, my aunty and uncle and of course my parents.
Thinking about the caves all I can remember is the darkness and how the crystals shined in your eyes and made you blink.
It felt magical. There were rocks and crystals everywhere.
I can still remember the hole at the top of the caves which the sunlight shined through and bought lightness to the room.
That hole was left by a man called James McKeown who was an ex-convict who used the cave as a hide out.
As I was walking around I could hear a cry which played on and on in my head.
It was frightening.
As we left this magnificent cave I felt glad that I could come to the Blue Mountains and see the beautiful shimmering Jenolan Caves with my family.
