Giant Sequoia

I am a microbe on the dirt compared to this tree.
It is amazing that a simple tree makes everything that I could ever care about feel insignificant.
The sheer nature of this is unrivalled.
It reminds me that this world also belongs to nature, not just us.
It reminds me that this is our home, and not just an endless supply of materials.
Our Home.
Wrapping my arms around this tree is fruitless, and all I achieve is looking like the letter T.
It stretches up and up into the sky until it’s gone.
How can anything be so high?
So high that it touches the sky?
It seems impossible to even imagine.
The leaves fly up high, touching the great wondrous sky. It’s so beautiful.
When I see this tree, I think “How can anyone cut such nature down?”
As I think, it sways
from the great, powerful wind,
almost falling down.
This whole ordeal has moved me.
Moved me to protect this tree.
It’s our home, and nothing more.
We’re shaking it to it’s very core.
