The dog sat inside the globe
Puzzled by what he saw
From the window that kept him sanitised
He gazes, reflecting,
At the faults of humanity
As well as the kindness and grace
From inside those glazed walls,
An encapsuled perfect life
Away from the iciness of a stranger
Away from the warmth of a mother
Then snow falls around him at moments uncontrolled,
A sprinkling of hope,
Like the mask of white outside
Promising new opportunities
Covering the scars of the earth
Offering a beauty to be granted
But the window shatters
And the two globes merge.
He steps outside and embraces it,
And leaves the cracked remains to dust.
