It hangs on my door, inside my room,
looking down on me with its longing look
but my thoughts turn to Grandad
his kindness his heart
like his carvings he lives on
leaving a mark of love and advise for me
and a shark in wood

I love my grandad with all my heart
his kind eyes his grin
the way he looks after my nan
as she looks off into the distance
daydreaming dazily about dragons and demons
he’ll be there at six he’ll be there at eight sitting
calmly making sure that Nan's alright

Onto of all this he's a champion
winning the Easter show and all the rest
he’s a genius and a brilliant mind in my eyes
and I think he's just the best

To put it simply I love my grandad
I want to be as great as him.
