Grandpa

I remember my grandpa and it was tough,
I didn’t get to say goodbye,
Now I feel I didn’t know him enough,
I was too small, too young to cry,
He left the world with a smile on his face,
Left his hard-earned lifetime,
Left my dad, with a final embrace,
Left me, to keep up the climb,
I have finally understood,
How fast time can fly,
How fast people could,
Get old and die,
My grandpa’s death was unexpected,
He wasn’t ready to go,
But he had always respected,
The way the heavens had to stow,
His life wasn’t a piece of cake,
His family lived hand to mouth,
However, every day he used to make
His brothers and sisters couth,
My grandpa was a wise man,
He knew that solemn people were abound,
And so, he laughed during his whole lifespan,
Enlightening himself and those around,
I miss my grandpa dearly,
Though I am happy to claim,
He served his life sincerely,
And deserves all the fame.
