Gleaming golden guardian
Generations embedded into the groove on my finger passed from grandmother to granddaughter
Banded eternal bond constant reminder of who I am and where I am from.
Over the decades; Connie, wife, mum, gran, great grandmother.
The history of the marriage reflected in the warm, curved surfaces , worn through war,
On hands nurturing twin babies, feeding family, nimble fingers embroidering heirlooms, patting adoring dogs.
Heritage , belonging, longing, a guilty reminder to connect before time steals the chance.
Tears for loss and regret, gratitude evoked kitchen smells, dogs, the Lake District, walks, caravans
So much happy childhood . Blessed bonding band.
