The blue, blue sky, now a sickening grey,
Soon the other trees will start to sway.
As the CO2 wraps around their precious leaves,
Taunting them, hurting them as it hurts me.
I can almost hear them scream with pain…
But the CO2, it stays like a nasty black stain.
Like a jagged scar, spreading like water,
Soon everything begins to grow warmer!
And very soon the tranquillity will fray,
And everything will be lost in grey…
These green, precious leaves fluttering away,
Peace and hush suddenly seem so far away
The birds now hiding and squawking in my leaves,
As the CO2, cutthroat thief!
Slices through the memories, hopes and dreams,
Silently making its dastardly scheme.
I wonder if I can awake from this nightmare,
But as I wait, death plays the dreadful fanfare,
I dearly hope I can last till May,
But It feels like I’ll only last one more day...
