I grasp it and it warms with my touch
In this cocoon it is snug and safe
Its smooth edges fuse.
For inside its belly, is a mother's love
so, just as my hand envelopes the object, it envelopes me.

The menacing claws of longing,
that had wrenched at my heart, clutched at my breath
are at once powerless.
Its fierce grip releases and flees
it cannot win this battle

For its opponent is a force,
without bounds, relentless and strong
When called upon it will always attend
To protect, to reassure

My breath slows, heart warms
I can relax my grip
For it surrounds me now
