My love for you is boundless like the sky
At the thought of you, my head spins and pounds
Without you, days and nights never fly by.
Twilight; mighty howls escape from the hounds
They’re growls of vengeance that chill my poor bones
Turned to you for comfort; to no avail
Paced the lifeless hall, spoke in hush-hush tones
Thunder clashed, lightning flashed, floorboards wailed
Your shadow peers stealthily near the door
Tiptoeing soundlessly up the staircase
Dexterous fingers picked the lock with no flaw
Pale as deathly moonlight is your sweet face
You raise the sword- in vain, to end my days.
To requite my crime. “Forgive me.” I say.
